MINI STICK LEAGUE

Sunday Nights: Starting September 14th

10 teams, 8 bookable teams, 2 teams for individual inquiries
Must register as a team of 4
Age restrictions: 8-11 (born between 2017-2014)
5 games a night: 30 minutes each (4:30-7:30pm)
Registration fee: $2000 + HST
Payment is per team, not per player.
Team shirts will be provided to each player, with numbers associated.

Rules:
Face Masks are not mandatory, with the addition of a waiver being signed.
Only mini hockey sticks, made of plastic or composite materials are permitted.
Must not be greater than 22 inches in length. (if you aren’t using one of ours)
Players must provide their own stick, or purchase one from Hat Trick TC.

GAME PLAY
All teams consist of 4 players. 2 players and 1 goalie play at once per team.
Teams may have 1 substitute player, but this person cannot play for any other
team in the league.

Games are 30 minutes long. Consisting of three 10 minute periods - RUN TIME.

*A 3-minute warm up, and 1 minute in intermission between periods.
Games begin with a good old Fashioned N-H-L Face Off.
When the ball goes out of play, the team who did not touch the ball last, is granted possession.

PENALTIES/INFRACTIONS
Slashing, hooking, tripping, cross-checking, pushing, aggressive body checks,
fighting or swearing WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Teams will be penalized using the following criteria;
1st Offence - Penalty Shot
2nd Offence – 2 minute Penalty (player must leave playing surface)
3rd Offence – Player ejected from game. Team to play shorthanded for remainder of game.
Penalty shots are taken immediately after an infraction occurs. The ball is placed at center court and is dead after the shot is taken. Possession will then be given to the defending team, regardless of the outcome of the shot. After the shot, the ball is live ONLY to the defending team. Any player can take the penalty shot.
Time stalling will not be permitted. Stalling is called at the discretion of the official. Doing so shall result in a penalty shot for the other team. No sitting or closing your hand on the ball. If done, possession is granted to the other team.
Goalies are not allowed to remain stationary in their net.

TIEBREAKS
If games are tied at the end of 3 periods there will be:
3 Minute OT ​(Round Robin)
5 minute OT + Shootout (Playoffs)
In the event two or more teams are tied at the end of the Round Robin, the
following rules will determine which team moves forward to the playoffs:
- Wins
- Goals For divided by Goals Against

Teams must shake hands after each game.
FUN + SPORTSMANSHIP MUST BE ON DISPLAY AT ALL TIMES!
ALL CALLS MADE BY REFEREES ARE FINAL.
